HYPNOTIC reviews
"I love her sass, her voice, her authenticity. You have to care about Rose."
~ Jacquelyn Mitchard Oprah's Book Club, NY Times bestseller
*****Beautifully Poetic Love Story
Deb Andersen, IL, 1-28-12: I could not put this book down. While it's described as a teen vampire novel, this middle aged reader thoroughly enjoyed it. The writing is beautiful; the characters are finely drawn and believable. What a love story! It's hard to believe that Rose is so young; she has wisdom and maturity beyond her years. She's troubled but still tough and fiery. It's easy to identify with Rose and cheer for her. Rose and Chaz's love for each other is so vividly written that your heart aches for them both. As soon as I finished the book, I wanted more of the story and I'm happy to report that a sequel is in the works. Thanks Marja for a wonderful book and I can't wait for the next one!
*****A BEAUTIFUL MASTERPIECE
Anonymous 12-25-11: Never have I read such a beautiful novel. With Twilight and vamps so trendy right now, this had all the elements we love but was a refreshing take. The plot is simply genius, a modern day Romeo & Juliet with all the same drama and action. And my goodness, the romance! Healy's artistry in her writing, is so beautiful. Both Chaz's dialogue and the depth of Rose's emotions are unmatched. The vow of the rose, the fierce rematch game, you are truly hypnotized by this novel and get lost in the sheer force of emotion. This is writing that has power, to make you lose reality. This novel would make a fabulous movie! I hope it gets famous. But a novel of this caliber for 99 cents? Amazing. You can't regret it. An ending leaving you dying for more, I hope Marja comes out with the sequel soon. This novel is perfection. A beautiul performance!
*****A MESMERIZING EXPERIENCE
Gregg Michael Nestor, LA, 12-31-11: From the beginning I found it impossible to turn away from 'Hypnotic' - one page effortlessly melted into another and kept me transfixed. About 1/3 of the way thru it dawned on me that I was reading a cleverly disguised and updated modern version of "Romeo & Juliet" but told from the two lover's unique point of view. Marja Healy is a wizard of the descriptive word, and able to weave alluring and eloquent imagery. I recommend this unhesitatingly! What a great way to wring out the old year and ring in the new (pun intended!) Enjoy!
****Taryn
March 21, 2012 By Taryn: I am a avid book reader/writer, but I love love love vampire books. Anything vampire/ twist love story, is MY KIND OF BOOK. This book was really good! The only reason I gave it 3 stars is it starts out slow, but if you stay with it i promise you will love it!!! The story is not like like other vampire books, most vampire love stories post twilight all have a twilight twist - THIS BOOK DOES NOT AND I LOVE THAT!! The writer shows her talent off, in her own version of a vampire love story. Just downloaded the second book (Magnetic) and will be starting it after I post this review. Overall a very good read!!
****TWO
Anonymous 12-27-11: The best vampire romance I have ever read except for Twilight.

MAGNETIC (Hypnotic, Book 2)
*****One of the BEST books I have read!
Anonymous March 26, 2012: I love Chaz & Rose's story. Love, Loss, Heartbreak, Horror, Tragedy, Spirit, all the things a story should have and so much more. I could not put this book down. Want to read more....can not wait for the next book!!! LOVED IT!!!!!
*****HEART PUMPING, NON STOP SPELLBINDING WONDERFUL
Anonymous 3-23-12: Heart pumping, non stop spellbinding wonderful! And here I thought Hypnotic was the best. And along comes Magnetic. Everything you ever wanted in a vampire story is all right here. Romance. Intrigue. Romance. Danger. Romance, romance, romance. Chaz and Rose really get in a bind this time. Wow! She tangles in a house of horrors with the worst vampire imaginable. And stands up to him. That's what I love most about Rose. Her guts in the face of danger. In the face of death, which happened a lot in this book. But the ending was the best. I need the sequel and I need it now!!!!! You got to read this thing. Believe me.
****Waiting impatiently on book 3
March 23, 2012 By rglmilajl: I was amazed to find this available on Nook Wednesday when Amazon didn't have it yet. Of course I read it right away and could not put it down like book 1. I absolutely was captivated once again by Chaz and Rose. I was disappointed that Rose was made to be so naive about Tara. There were overt clues about her. Anyway, I am wondering if there will be a book 3. Can anyone tell me if there will be? If you read book 1 then you will not be disappointed by book 2.
XANZEER: FAIRY TALES CAN BE HOT reviews
*****AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME!
Skip Skool 12-6-11: I didn't know what to expect from this book. But wow, am I ever glad I read it. Charlize and Xanzeer's romance was tragic and then totally beautiful. Then there were these little funny zinger things that I laughed at so hard, I almost cried. Parts were fairytale wonderful. Other parts were like Xanzeer was this scary super hero guy that little tiny Charlize stood up to. And other parts were magical way beyond Potter or Twi. (the globe thingy and other stuff in the Ghost ship's Captain's cabin for one. The skull cloud and The Lamp for sure. Little things like the Captain's belt buckle. Then big things like when Xanzeer showed up full blown in Charlize's living room for the first time.) I laughed a lot when the character Sindi was in the cab with Charlize. It was histerical. My boyfriend hates to read but loved this he-man, made of fire, Xanzeer guy. Who was gorgeous too, by the way. But it's a real first for him, believe me. If this becomes a movie, Brandon'll be first in line to see it with me. Yay! (This usually causes major blow outs with us.) Fingers crossed for Xanzeer 2 sooooon. YOU GO XANZEER!
*****Wow
Anonymous 12-13-11: Wow! This book is beautiful and amazing and oh so romantic! It made me laugh out loud. More, more, more please!!!!!
*****THE MOST SPELLBINDING READ EVER!
Anonymous 12-26-11: From the first page, I lost myself in Xanzeer. It was the most fantastic voyage I'd ever been on! This author's written a truly magnificent piece of artwork here. Little wonder she'd been nominated for a book award once. The plot to Xanzeer was a rich tapestry rivaling the best of any Potter. The imagination that it took to write what happened in the Treasure Room alone, I'd have paid twenty times more for. Not only was there unimaginable magic to this story, the romance between Xanzeer and Charlize was like nothing I'd ever read before. Their having lost each other was so absolutely gut wrenching, so beautifully captured with words, that their hard journey back to each others arms will no doubt enter into literary history. Mark my word. But for all the tragedy here, there were funny parts too that uplifted your spirit all over again. Reading this book, I go so absorbed in the unforgettable characters of the Captain, his daughter and Genie that I forgot I had my own life to lead. The dog got left outside. The iron got left on. Stuff burnt in the oven. The phone rang and rang. The way they all talked too, they jumped right off the page and into your life. I'll stay shaky and won't be able to manage until I read the next one. Literally, if you only read one book this year, make it Xanzeer. You'll come away reeling.
